innocent people can be hurt in war. also it could dtir up trouble with pther counries who do not support the war.

War is itself is an evil

  • War does not kill evils; war is itself an evil and a mother of many other evils like massive destructions, unemployment, mental and physical diseases, poverty, economic instability, illiteracy. It has destroyed nations from the face of earth.

  • What is war? Waris a reciprocated, armed conflict, between two or more non-congruous entities, aimed at reorganizing a subjectively designed, geo-politically desired result. (Wikipedia.com).

  • The term is also used for non-military conflict, such as in the example of cold war.

  • The history of man has seen these wars.Afghan war, American Civil War, World War 1, World War 2, Napoleon War, Kuwait war, Iran-Iraq war etc

  • In history, no war brought the wellness of human being, it pushed the society behind.

  • Personally I am against war as the very act of fighting among each other divides us as a race. With more divisions, and with that, more bad blood between people, misunderstandings among people of different groups, be they racial, national and religious, will increase exponentially.

  • The history of war is as old as human. There could be so many reasons of going war. The

  • Also, war takes lives. Not only of enemies also of our brothers. I hope that I will never have to see even once in my lifetime. In World War II, it is estimated that 60 to 70 Million causalities occurred. War

  • Not to mention, war exerts a tremendous strain on the country's economy. If you dont have a comparative advantage in making weapons, then your resources will not be used efficiently, and people in your own country are going to suffer, if not in the battlefields of soldiers, then in the battlefields of their own house, where they fight for survival from hunger.

  • We teach our kids that they shouldn't fight with their little friends over toys, food, etc. Instead, they should talk and reach a consensus. "If your little friend keeps hitting you, ignore him, or talk to him, but never fight back, because then the problem will never be solved."

  • We should now teach adults that war doesn't solve problems, and is bad both to winners and losers. To reply anger with anger is not intellectual.

  • War breeds destruction not just to mankind and infrastructure but also to the environment, from massive deforestation to air pollution.

  • Chemical agents pollute the sea, air and land, destroying a large number of habitats and killing off its inhabitants.

  • Biological weapons cause damages to large areas and it is danger enough that If go out of control can affect the population around the globe.

  • Yes, it is true that we have to fight to save people's life however, have you thought about the long term effects that could happen by waging war and using force to help those people?

  • I think war is a manly way to solve problems, but not the best way. I really don't see how it overall benefits anything.

  • War is a tool of illiterate and non civilized persons. Civilized nation who have understood the value of peace are progressing rapidly like European countries. It is quite evident that they are the fastest progressing countries. While in Asia where most of the third world countries exist, the main reason of their poverty is the on going conflicts among the people of countries themselves and with the neighboring countries.

  • Look around yourself and observe people. You will find that the person who remains angry and ever ready to go on a fight always remain surrounded by problems. All his efforts end in multiplying the problem. He causes damages not only to himself but also to his relatives and nearby people. On the other hand, a person who avoids conflicts or try to solve conflicts with in soft manner actually resolve them. This brings harmony among people.

  • War kills innocent people.

  • Wars Risk the Future of the Human Race

  • War is an aggression

  • Life is sacred.

  • The history of the world comprises a number of wars

  • In war, no one wins, both are in loss.

: war! war!

Why do we have to fight?

People are dieing because of the war,

War is not good, absolutely nothing.

Death here, death there,

Parents are lost, dreams are lost,

Children are lost, brightness is lost.

War brings darkness,

War destroys happiness,

War brings GENOCIDE.

War overtakes peace,

And replaces it with conflict,

War is not harmony.

War brings greediness,

War brings depression,

War is not good, absolutely nothing.

== == Some of the smaller-minded of us would argue that US intervention in Iraq is wrong because our Congress was misled by the Bush Administration on the need to remove Saddam Hussein from power (which they have conveniently translated into 'the American public was misled'). Of course we found no Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs), but that wasn't because we knew they didn't have them, though the same Congressmen who viewed it as political suicide to NOT vote to invade Iraq now claim that the Bush Administration chose to not disclose contrary evidence of WMDs and exaggerate the evidence to support them. Many idiotic Americans will argue against the US intervention in Iraq because so many American soldiers are dying. Unfortunately, that is what soldiers do: fight and die for their country. These brave heroes risk everything everyday to bring some kind of idea of freedom to a people who have long been oppressed. Less than 4,000 US troops have died in the four years of conflict. More than a half million Iraqis have died for their country in the same amount of time. Other arguments against US intervention are that the Bush Administration couldn't manage itself out of a wet paper bag, let alone "correctly" wage a war. For all the arguments of the Bush Administration's mistakes with the war, not one solution of "bringing our troops home" includes a stable Iraq. Because there was no "exit-strategy" built into the Administration's Invasion plan, Congress has gotten into the habit of automatically assuming the Commander-in-Chief is a moron. The fact that we went in expecting a war and the Iraqi Republican Guard all but laid down in front of us as we invaded their country is lost on those who argue there should have been a plan to keep the peace in place as soon as we invaded. The fact that basic municipals and government institutions in Iraq were so terrible at this time that many of those who lost power and water and were so "inconvenienced" by the invasion were almost always without it anyway is also lost on the dissenters. Then there are the religious implications of it all. Having named Saddam Hussein as part of the "axis of evil" in his State of the Union Address during his first term as President, Bush gave many people both foreign and domestic the impression that we were raging a 'holy' war against a fundamentalist people and not a liberation of a oppressed people. It was an error in judgment (and wording) that haunts him to this day but is no closer to being correct than when this whole thing started in 2003. Still others hold disillusioned to the idea that we invaded for oil. If we had invaded for oil, we wouldn't try so hard to keep civilians as much out of harm's way as possible. This claim is as unintelligent as the idea we started a 'jihad'. Finally, many arguments against the war stem from the fact that so many Iraqi civilians have died during the US occupation of Iraq. Of course, there has yet to be a news report about a US Serviceman strapping a bomb to their chest and going to a very public place so he could detonate it and kill as many people as possible along with himself. Hundreds of Iraqis have, killing many thousands of their fellow Iraqis for their own religious reasons, but we still await the report. There are 3,500 US Servicemen who have died making Iraq a better place to live for Iraqis. The more able-minded of us still hope that by doing this, it will make not only Iraq a better place to live for Iraqis but the world a safer place to live for everyone because we eliminated a government that advertised 'safe-haven' for those who would use terrorism to try to bully the rest of the world. Unlike subsequent generations, we are still waiting for the hindsight that says we were either right or wrong. People are not small minded when they have been led down the garden path regarding the Vietnam War and if in doubt, ask a Vietnam Vet if this war in Iraq isn't just another Vietnam and they aren't the only ones stating this! American citizens are growing tired of the propaganda, mistakes, lies in government never getting the whole truth. Since the Vietnam War good old 'Apple Pie America' had gone out the window. The fact that President Bush's popularity is below the 23% mark says it in spades ... the American people have little faith in him as he's slow on the up-take and has not proved any weapons of mass destruction simply because this is not about weapons, but oil and power! Young male/female soldiers were already in the Armed Forces and some have been called to duty and they are young and innocent (until they get over there.) The US government doesn't tell you about the stats of some soldiers 'going over the hill' or trying to get into Canada to avoid being drafted. Sounds like Vietnam to me all over again! Perhaps some people should watch '60 Minutes' and learn some of the truths about the Iraq war. It was pitiful. The soldiers didn't even have proper gear to protect them against gas and they didn't have proper vehicles to protect them against bombs. While it's true that women with babies can walk up to a US soldier and have a grenade or bomb hidden remember that US invaded their country! Reverse that scenario! Hussein is long gone now and I often wonder why President Bush isn't mouthing off as usual about Bin Laden (remember that guy .. the one the US CIA trained and was behind the Trade Center disaster!) It's been months that Bin Laden's name has been uttered. Makes one wonder and it's only a person that has their head under a rock that can't see there is something fishy going on! This is not meant to be disrespectful to any soldier giving up their life for their country, but, they simply have no choice. If one is listening most Americans are shouting loud and clear 'Bring our soldiers back home!' The reason that you do not hear of anyone going to Canada to avoid being drafted is simply because NO ONE IS BEING DRAFTED. All current US military personnel are volunteers It is suggested that anyone wanting to know what is really going on with the American soldiers re Iraq is to search out the web. I have! Here are some of the facts: 1,700 U.S. soldiers have deserted their posts in Iraq, many of them failing to return to military duty after getting permission to go back to the United States. They simply disappear off the radar, and some of them may well be in Canada. According to an Associated Press wire story from last November, at least 17 U.S. troops have committed suicide in Iraq, and the actual number is almost certainly higher, prompting demands for answers from family members. The Pentagon has estimated that since the start of the current conflict in Iraq, more than 5,500 U.S. military personnel have deserted. We speak with journalist Kathy Dobie who wrote the cover story for this month's issue of Harper's magazine titled "AWOL in America: When Desertion is the Only Option." Dobie says, "Some of them leave because they're unwilling to kill, some because of family and personal problems and some because of the unjust recruiting process." I feel the above speaks for itself and if one is in doubt then please, feel free to search the web like I had to do. Of course there are some young men who will serve their country, but the final straw is actually being over there and seeing with their own eyes what is going on. I might add there is a secret group in Toronto that is harboring some deserters which has led to a Chapter in Vancouver, BC, and continues to do so. The U.S. Government prefers to keep much of the above quiet from the public. Have you compared the current figures for desertion to peacetime numbers? Desertion is defined as unauthorized absence over 30 days. Any service member who returns voluntarily within the 30 days is only guilty of being AWOL. Marine Corps: fiscal year 2001 (Before the invasion of Afghanistan) - 1,484. Fiscal year 2005 - 1,173 A DECLINE in the annual number of desertions even though number of Marines in service INCREASED. 2002 showed a slight increase from the pre-war figure (1,721) but the numbers for 2003 and 2004 were about half of the 2001 total. The Army counted 2,011 new deserters in fiscal year 2005, a drop of more than 50 percent from the peacetime figures in 2001 and 2002. A desertion rate of 1% is considered acceptable in peacetime and the current rate is less than 1/2 of that. That sounds like an awful lot and I'm sure no where near that percentage of MY military acquaintances went AWOL, let alone deserted. I take it you from your quote of 'of my military acquaintances' that you are serving or have served in Iraq. It's a known fact that the true numbers in any war for wounded, those that deserted, tried suicide, tried to personally injure themselves so they could go home are never true statistics. I suppose it depends on what propaganda one wants to believe. The research (news and documentation) speak for themselves and if you want more information try websites on the Canadian Chapters taking in this AWOL's. They also had a program on TV with some soldiers saying they would rather be stripped on their honor and arrested than 'go back to Iraq!'
