In the eastern hemisphere, the Sahara Desert is the largest dry desert.
In the Western Hemisphere, the Patagonia Desert is the largest dry desert.
Excluding Antarctica, the largest desert in the Western Hemisphere is the Patagonian Desert of South America at 260,000 square miles. The Sahara also intrudes a bit into the Western Hemisphere. The Patagonian is found entirely in this hemisphere.
