If the animal is furry & warm blooded, with 4 legs & a tail, I'd call it a Mammal (Mammals give Milk). If it has scales, like a Lizard or Alligator or a hard shell, like a Turtle, I'd classify them as Reptiles or reptilian. (Reptiles can be born alive and ready to go or like a Turtle or some snakes, lay eggs)
The platypus has webbed feet to help it when it swims. It has retractable webbing between the claws on its front legs and hind legs. The claws are needed for when the platypus digs its burrow, but the webbing would be torn by the digging; hence it is retractable.
Similarly, because the otter is a semi-aquatic mammal, most species have webbed feet. Beavers have webbed hind feet.
(Penguins are often thought to have fur but, being birds, they have feathers.)
According to "The Super Dictionary," a badger.

Platypuses, beavers and bats. Penguins are often thought to have fur, but in reality they have feathers.
I would guess it's a monkey, but not gorillas, orangutans, etc., because they don't have tails....I think any kind of smallish monkey would do.
Monkeys, gorillas, and other primates.

Arachnid is a animal with 8 legs, like spiders, whipscorpion, scorpion, pseudoscorpion, whipspider, solpugid, and a harvestman.
All species of spiders have 8 legs. However, spiders are able to detach some of their legs to escape harm if they are attacked by another animal. This is why you will sometimes see a spider with less than 8 legs.
