Its the normal right handed thraed... It IS torqued to about 120 ft lbs though... You may need to wedge the flexplate/flywheel to keep from spinning the entire rotating assembly when you try to loosen it.
I believe I read someplace that they will fit with a little machining.

It will bolt in with exception to the 383 exhaust "Y" pipe. However I remember some of those 383 and 440's had different crankshafts between the standard and the automatics. The crankshaft was machined deeper to accept the standard transmission input shaft. Be sure to check the back of the crankshaft on that 440 and to also install a pilot bushing/bearing.
