What are easy programming languages for becoming a website and software developer?

Hey,
For website developing you'll want to learn html, javascript, asp and such, start with html and you'll just naturaly get to the other languages. for software developing I highly recommend python, it is the easiest language to start with and very powerful (I started with it).

In terms of Web Development, the most common language is PHP, which is used by approximately 81.9% of websites according to W3Techs, though it's put under rather large amounts of scrutiny by the web development community, whom generally prefer more modern solutions such as Ruby on Rails and Django (Python). There's also an increasing popularity amongst Node.js; a server side adaptation of the Javascript language.
Software development is a whole other kettle of fish, and you'll hear the term "use the right tool for the job" thrown around very often. For example, if you're looking at developing for iOS and Apple Mac OS X, the best solution would be to use either Objective C or Swift (the latter being a relatively young language compared to the former). Please note, languages such as C++, C#, Java and Objective C are compiled languages, meaning before execution the source files are compiled into an executable for the target system. Whereas, scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Perl and Go are very portable in the sense that they need not be compiled and will execute on any system with the correct interpreter.
If you're looking for a job in web development, many companies are looking for those experienced in Node, Ruby and Python. Though PHP still holds a fairly proportional amount of the market share.
If the case is that you're looking to head into software development, take into consideration the OS you wish to develop for, and choose a language compatible with that system.
So, it's not the case of what is the easiest language to learn - it's about using the right tool for the job.
