export overrun is a label usually associated with the term fake or damaged goods. It can be called excess goods, damaged goods or rejects but definitely not fake.

FYI we used to be exporters so i definitely know what im talking about and im talking from experience.

When you export non perishable goods like bags or clothing, you have to make excess of what is actually ordered. usually about 3% of the actual order.

So if the buyer ordered 10,000 pcs you have to make excess of 300 pcs.

What is the 3% excess for? when loading time comes (loading the 40 foot container), the QC (quality control) inspector will come and randomly pick from the packed boxes ready for loading. normally about 5 % of the total shipment.

Then the inspector will reopen the boxes and look for rejects or damaged products. now the damaged products are replaced by the 300 pcs excess that you made and then they are packed and loaded. however if you have too many rejects within the 5% then the inspector might recommend canceling the whole order.

Fact: not all 300 pcs will be used to replace reject. usually only less than half is used.

Now here is the question. are those 300 pcs made in excess fake?

are the damaged goods rejected by the inspector fake?

are all the excess made damaged goods?

and in case the buyer cancels the whole order of a 40 foot container of 10,000 pcs. What will the manufacturer do with it? How can he get even a fraction of his money back?

Conclusion: overruns are not fake.

Overruns can be damaged goods, rejected goods or cancelled goods.

Go to Rumah Mode Bandung Indonesia and you will see a lot of overruns there

The best way to know if its overruns is when it eventually runs out. fakes are produced continuously on purpose because of demand, overruns are there because they are over the required order or they are cancelled orders. so when a certain style runs out, then there wont be any available again.
