The word "Eskimo' is often considered derogatory in Canada and elsewhere due to the word essentially meaning "eaters of raw meat". It is best to refer to them by their tribal name such as Inuit, Aleut, Tlingit, etc. The term "Eskimo" is still used when referring to all the tribes in general as no better word yet exists since Native Americans are considered to be a different ethnic culture entirely. Perhaps "Arctic Natives" would be more suitable...

While their original mode of transportation was by dog sled, many people now travel by snowmobile when moving across the Arctic tundra.

Igloos are used as emergency shelters or hunting shelters but not a permanent dwelling.

The men are responsible for the hunting and eat a diet traditionally consisting mainly of fish, seal, whale and whatever berries they can forage in the Arctic summers. In modern times, it is easier to access other items such as flour and sugar to supplement their diet.

The women traditionally raise the children, clean the home and prepare food.

Arctic Natives are one of the first peoples affected by global warming as the Arctic is much more sensitive to environmental changes and Natives their have seen a decrease in the thickness of the ice they hunt on as well as a decrease in the number of animals their are to hunt.
