The word "Eskimo' is often considered derogatory in Canada and elsewhere due to the word essentially meaning "eaters of raw meat". It is best to refer to them by their tribal name such as Inuit, Aleut, Tlingit, etc. The term "Eskimo" is still used when referring to all the tribes in general as no better word yet exists since Native Americans are considered to be a different ethnic culture entirely. Perhaps "Arctic Natives" would be more suitable...
