The purpose of the Crusades was to make converts to Christianity. The crusaders went across Europe trying to make people believe in Christianity. Some of the Crusades were successful; others, not so much. Also..TACO SALAD.
Mostly knights and soldiers went on the Crusades. In the Children's Crusades (1202) England sent children to try and capture Jerusalem, but they never returned. But in most of the Crusades Knights and soldiers went with their huge armies to go and fight the Muslims so they could get Jerusalem(the Holy Land) back, and they thought that the Muslim religion was wrong.
In Europe, and from France, England, and Germany. They went to Israel for the Crusades.
people went on crusades for many reasons like to please god, to runaway from the law, get more land or help their reputation
i think because they went the holy land
There were many reasons to go on crusade. People were religious and though it might be good for their souls or get them into heaven. Some people went on crusade to do penance for their sins, some of these by their own volition, and some under orders from the Church. Some people went on the crusades because they were ambitious, greedy, or hateful. The reasons people went certainly ranged from the highest to the lowest. One thing might be added, which is that whatever the reasons for the crusades were, they did not work as planned.
the pope lied them and obligated them.
All of the religious people that wanted Jerusilm.
french people German people Europeans children`s and empires many people were tricked in crusades and were sold as slaves or kidnapped
The Crusades were sponsored and fought by the Catholic Church and the people who went were Christians to take back the “Holy Land.”
A fact about the crusades is that people went on the crusades because Pope Urban told them that they would be forgiven for their sins and tht they would automatically go to Heaven.
freedom from debts and taxes
The majority of the people who went on the crusades were neither noble nor knights. There were a lot of foot soldiers, archers, workers of all sorts, and others who went along.
The Catholics.
Well the Christians were the ones who launched the crusades and they did this because they couldn't safely travel to Jerusalem (which they called the Holy Land). They couldn't make safe pilgrimages to Jerusalem any more because the Seljuk Turks (who were Muslims) were conquering a lot of land aroundJerusalem. The Christians launched the first crusade and they captured Jerusalem. But they owed some of their victory to the Muslims who were already breaking off into different states. Four Reasons people went on crusades: • Christians couldn't make safe pilgrimages to Jerusalem (The Holy Land) • Seljuk Turks were taking over too much land around Jerusalem • Muslims were making it hard for Christians to get to Jerusalem • Christians wanted to be able to go to the Holy Land because it was a great religious site for them (it was also a great religious site for Muslims and Jews, for all different reasons)
