As hard as it may be, ignoring them is the best response. All they want is the attention. If they see you don't care what they say, most will stop it and move on to someone who will respond. There are all kinds of remarks you can make, some clever that they will not understand and others that are just stupid. Don't sink to their level. A clever comeback has to be delivered with a certain attitude. If you don't have that, it doesn't have the desired affect. If you have to make a comeback, you can ask why it's important to him, is he interested? Point out that you have standards and wouldn't go that low. If you are ready to come out or already are, look him square in the eye and say Yes I am, so what? If you show that what they think has no importance to you, they will quickly move on to an easier target.
