Internal linking is the ability to jump to a certain point in the same page by clicking on a link. Long pages with lots of sections and data often have a menu of links at the top, enabling you to jump directly to points in the page instead of having to scroll down. Throughout the page there are often links to bring you back to the main menu. All these links are within the page, so they are internal, as opposed to links that jump to other files or pages, which are external.
