Not eating enough proteins. Living off of one small meal per day. Eating lots of salads with not much in them or lots of fruits. No dairy products (or little) and no grains. Anorexic people will eat vegetables, fruit, water-down their juices such as orange juice; scatter what little food they are eating on their plate so it looks like more. Some love to cook for others, but you seldom see the Anorexic eat any of the food. If at a dinner or buffet they will use excuses to be somewhere else other than where the food is or lie and say they had a plate of food earlier. They will pick at their food and lie saying they had a large breakfast or lunch and just aren't hungry and sometimes will use the excuse they have picked up a virus of some sort. The reason their is a psychological problem with Anorexics is because they feel they have no control over their own lives and the only control they do have is whether they choose to eat or not. It's not something they choose to do on purpose and they honestly see themselves as over-weight or "not perfect." It is a person that is not wise that does not seek counseling for Anorexia and it's nothing to be embarrassed about. Seeing a good psychologist every so often is much like giving your car a good tune-up. 3 years ago I went to a psychologist because of a personal problem with my mother and I wanted another opinion as to whether I was handling the situation correctly. I wasn't embarrassed one bit and find it no different than going to my family doctor for any other physical problem.
