I don't see many similarities. The were both once colonized by the British. The differences include:

Canada is wealthy and underpopulated while India is poor and overpopulated.

Canada has a very high HDI (approx. 0.9) and India has a medium one (approx. 0.5)

Canada is firmly aligned with the "western" powers while India is a proponent of non alignment.

Canada is freezing cold all the time while India is really hot.

Canadians are Christians or atheists. Indians are mostly Hindus with some Muslims, Sikhs and Buddhists.
