well there are three main similarities between Hindu and christian weddings
1. when married the christian bride (and husband) will wear a ring to show her marriage, in Hinduism the woman usually places a small red circle on her forehead to show her marriage.
2. the father of the bride believes that they are no longer the responsibility of their child but hand over that responsibility to the husband, this is common in both religions.
3. and finally both religion vow to the partner that they will stay faithful.
