Native Americans have and still are stereotyped in many ways. These stereotypes have been largely perpetuated by Hollywood and sports teams. Probably the most glaring of stereotypes is the way Indians are supposed to look. Indians range from blond and blueeyed to black haired and brown eyes and everything in between. Some are short, some tribes are very tall. Most actually have pale skin but can have very dark skin. The variables are as numerous as there are tribes.

Housing is another stereotype. Tribes lived with what was most feasible for their area. Today they live as any other American.

Traditions and beliefs vary per tribe or even clan.

Some that I read in the past 10 minutes:

We all speak the same language: "Native American"

Anyone can be Native American, they just want to know how to "join"

All white names can be translated into "Native American"

Some others I've heard is:

"HOW!"

A common stereotype is that all Native Americans live on reservations and rely on government assistance. This overlooks the diversity of Native American cultures and the many contributions they have made to society. It is important to recognize and respect the unique histories and traditions of Native American tribes.

It is difficult to state what some of the stereotypes of Indian girls are, as there do not really seem to be any real stereotypes. Perhaps one would envision an Indian girl as wearing a feather on a headband, others consider them to have drinking problems, but these can refer to any culture.

Riding horses bareback and wearing war bonnets or disliking cold weather and remaining politically neutral are respective stereotypes of North America's and South Asia's Indians. In reality, native Americans can ride saddle with the best of bronco-busters and wear modern accessories while subcontinental Indians handle snow storms and wind chills throughout India's mountains and may stand up when no one else will, as in the case of Dharamsala's community of exiled Tibetans under the world-revered 14th Dalai Lama (born July 1935).

What kind hat did binjamin Franklin have?

Franklin never lived on the frontier. However, that was the French stereotype of the American colonists in the 18th century when Franklin was in France to requisition French aide in the Revolution. In order to get what he wanted, he chose to play into that stereotype and, instead of dressing strictly as a businessman and gentleman, topped his look with a coonskin cap - typical of the American frontiersman.
