Amoxicillin is commonly prescribed for dogs, but usually in liquid form. It would be a good idea to check with your vet. You don't want to endanger your pet just to save money, and there are other issues involved with infections besides knowing which antibiotics are not harmful. Different infections require different drugs, and different doses. Be careful.
Check the front of the packet. Some of the spot-ones will say they are safe for dogs and cats. Some are definitely not safe for use on cats, e.g. Advantix.

It is safe for some animals. Dogs, hamsters, horses, if a cat does eat cauliflower then it is fine for them also.
