Illinois has it's perks but every citizen I've seen here native and non-native love Texas. Most the people who think Texas sucks because of hot weather and funny accents haven't even been here. We have people from all around the world who originally hated Texas but grew to love it.

Alex: I've been here for 3 years and I still don't like Texas at all. I don't see what is so great about it. And no, most people don't have strange accents here. Texas isn't all that everyone makes it out to be.

Texas is much larger and is farther south. Texas was part of the Confederacy. Illinois fought for the Union. Illinois has lakes and rivers but is not near any salt water. Texas borders the Gulf of Mexico.
