Anorexia Nervosa
An eating disorder characterized by a distorted body image, fear of becoming obese, persistent aversion to food, and severe weight loss and malnutrition. Symptoms aside from aversion to food may include excessive exercise, self-induced vomiting, abuse of laxatives.
Bulimia Nervosa
An eating disorder characterized by an obsession over food leading to binges (large and abnormal consumptions of food) and followed by a feeling of guilt and fear of weight gain as a result from the calories consumed and so the individual purges (self induced vomiting). Other symptoms may include use of laxatives. The individual is usually lucky to purge 10% of what is consumed - and the average BMI for a bulimic is above the recommended healthy BMI.
Exercise Bulimia
An eating disorder characterized by the individual binging (or sometimes eating a normal diet) but exercising excessive amounts to rid of every calorie consumed. This disorder is often unnoticed but equally as dangerous as other eating disorders.
Binge Eating Disorder
An eating disorder characterized by an individual taking obsessive comfort in food and binging on excessive amounts of food.

Eating disorder not otherwise specified.
