Punk was born because of a few reasons. 1- Punk was born out of the rebelion against the music scene of the time. Bands like the Ramones and the Sex Pistols hated the fact that bands like Simon and Garfunkel were considered rock n roll. 2- Punk bands also refused to dissconect themselves from their fans and sign with major record labels. That gave punk the raw sound that we have all come to know and love. 3- Alot of early punk was influenced by 60's garage bands. Also alot of punk bands grew up listening to bands like the stooges and the mc5 who were early forms of punk rock. 4- When the Ramones released their first album they influenced alot of punk bands. Many punk musicians taught themselves to play by listening to the Ramones, and that gave alot of punk bands their fast paced loud sound. Contributed by Punkrock Wrestling
Endemoniada 'zine is dedicated to giving exposure to female bands and artists of the metal, hardcore, punk, industrial, gothic, and bizarre genre.
Relient K, Hawk Nelson and This Beautiful Republic are all Christian punk rock bands. Some of TobyMac's songs are considered punk rock as well, but his stuff is mostly pop or hip hop. Some of Switchfoot's older songs like "Company Car" and "Turn Everything Over" might be considered punk rock, also there is a punk praise band called Stellar Kart and a christian pop group called the Afters which have a punk influence.
Not all but truly the main reason why Punk music is hate filled in other words 'Teen Angst' is because in society, there are a lot of misunderstood teenagers out there and the Punk bands and artists have the same experience so they put their anger onto the lyrics. Therefore many teenagers can relate to Punk music. It's awesome to listen to Punk music cuz if you ever feel angry or misunderstood, you can always count on your favorite Punk bands! Hope I helped :)
Depends on what era you're talking about. Metalcore was a term which has been around since the 1980s, although the bands it described are more often now referred to as 'crossover' bands. They were bands which played a blend of Metal and Hardcore Punk, but not to the point where they were considered Thrash bands, and there would typically be distinct segments of Hardcore Punk and distinct segments of Thrash or Speed Metal. Some examples include Carnivore, S.O.D., and Cro-Mags.In its current form, Metalcore is supposed to be a similar principle, but, in reality, most of the bands currently described as Metalcore have little to nothing about them which is actually any form of Metal, and play a style which is exclusively a spinoff of Hardcore Punk (or derivatives of Hardcore Punk).
No, is the short answer. However, It is fair to to say that they were the most influential recording band of their generation and an inspiration to countless bands and solo artists since. Rock
The history of punk is longer than emo. Punk started in the 1970's The Ramones which influenced other bands like The Clash The Sex Pistols and The Casualites to name a few popular ones. Most emo bands like My Chemical Romance and From First to last were influenced by bands like The Misfits other goth, heavy metal bands and punk.
it most certainly does not! lots of punk bands have great singers
Punk music is actually a contrived genre created by a Brit named Malcom McLaren who was the manager and publicist of The Sex-Pistols whose 1977 debut album "Nevermind The Bollocks: Here's The Sex-Pistols" became the prototype for English Punk. However American bands such as The Ramones, The New York Dolls, and Throbbing Gristle are historically considered to be true examples of Punk philosophically speaking and proceeded "The Pistols" by 2-3 years.
you cant get that kind of help hereTry to see examples of bands in both genres and see what they in common in their wardrobe.
Mostly through the burgeoning punk movement. While bands like the New York Dolls and MC5 were early groundbreakers for punk ethos, the Who were forefathers of the punk rock trend. Bands like The Clash, who despised "old fart bands" like Yes and Led Zeppelin, still attributed much credit to The Who for their punk mindset and rebellious, loud, destructive, and nihilistic image portrayed in the 1960s.
Emo and punk are two different things. There are no good emo bands. that's a lie extreme clown posse is pretty good **Insane Clown Posse** ------ Why don't you try out The Used, Yellowcard, My Chemical Romance, or Metallica? Metallica is considered metal.
