Abigail Adams , like most girls of her time did not receive a formal education. Abigail being a sickly child was taught at home. Spending the hours of her childhood days in her father's library studying The Bible, history, philosophy, essays, poetry, and theology. If not studying she would be either having a conversation with her family/visitors or cuddled up with a good book. This repeated until she at age 15 met John Adams who later married her. In 1796 John became 2nd President of the United States and Abigail became the first Second Lady and the second First Lady of the United States
