Did you win the game of _____ last week? Then, once you run out of things to say think of something funny.
Just talk about how you think your relationship is going, but if you want to stay with your girlfriend only talk about the good things, that is the key point of a conversation.
Main topic:
Ask her about another couple, how they are doing. She will have much to say, it won't make any difference to you or anyone, and a series of "uh huh's" and "oh really's" tossed in by you will have her thinking you are a fabulous conversationalist.
Remember, the key is to let the other ramble on, then they'll love you forever.
(The opposite of this is to ask a guy about some sport event or car being fixed up. Just nod and act like you care, they'll talk all day.)

I'm sure hes thinking the same thing you are because he is worried he will say something "lame" so just don't be afraid and say whats on your mind.
