Amman is the capital city of Jordan. Jordan is actually still considered a kingdom. It is located in the North Western portion of Jordan and is quite hilly. The city was built in the region of the seven hills. As the city expanded over the years it now has over 18 hills. Amman is building a diverse economic base with companies in every line of industry. Royal Jordanian Airlines has their headquarters in Amman. Queen Alia International Airport is the main airport and it is kept up to date through its many expansions over the years. Construction is booming all over the city so you will see many building companies as well as architects. Freedom to worship has allowed Amman to become a popular tourist destination and has made it a great place for relocation. It allows visitors the opportunity more freedoms than other middle eastern cities. Amman has become known for its performing arts and western style amenities and attractions. Women do not have to wear a head veil except if they are in certain religious buildings.
