What are some ideas for preventing the spread of fallow deers?

Fallow deer have been introduced to many places throughout the world.

Locations where these animals have escaped into the wild and are considered

invasive can be controlled in a number of ways. Open hunting is the most obvious one. In regions where the animals reside in open areas the possibility is that they could be herded into enclosures for sterilization or destruction.

Several states in the US have populations of escaped Fallow Deer that are considered invasive and are judged to affect native populations of deer, elk and cause damage to

the ecosystem and other native wildlife.

California is currently using long term contraception as well as lethal and non-lethal removal to eliminate fallow deer. The state successfully eliminated the Sika deer from the Point Reyes Park using this method.
