I'm not too great with history, but looking at the quality of some of the answers here, I'll give you everything I know.

The economic times were in the gutter. The lull of false prosperity in the 1920s meant that everyone were buying like crazy, and were also buying into the Stock Market. The problem with that was because they were buying on margin, not paying all of the stock and were supposed to pay the rest later. However, when news began to circulate that they should sell stocks, they all sold their stocks on "black Tuesday", and many were desolate and bankrupt.

Farmers were beyond broke. They couldn't afford to buy the new machines that were being used to collect their crops, and the price of wheat was plummeting. This meant that the farmers quite literally, burned their wheat because it would cost too much money to collect.

Racism began to arrise once more, as people were blaming immigrants for stealing their jobs. This is when the popularity of the "KKK", Ku Klux Klan" was created. Even public newspapers sometimes encouraged the group, blaming immigrants for the prolems.

The 1930s was also a time for the rise of political dictators, which includes Hitler. Unpopular at first, the people began to believe these dictators, who claimed that by using force, they could quickly and efficiently take the country out of a recession. The moment Hitler was put into power in Germany, he had built many factories for military purposes, which increased job demands, which meant less were unemployed. The people were blinded by this sudden amount of new jobs, and thought that Hitler could really help them. Unfortunately, because of all of these dictators taking advantage of the economic disaster, it leads us to World War 2 in 1939

Some major events between 1930 and 1939 include the Great Depression, which began with the Wall Street Crash in 1929 and continued throughout the 1930s, causing widespread economic hardship. The Dust Bowl also occurred during this period, with severe drought and soil erosion affecting agricultural areas in the United States. In 1939, World War II began with Germany's invasion of Poland, marking the start of a conflict that would escalate and shape the next decade.
