The last line of dialogue which Piggy spoke was on the causeway. I quote directly from the book.... A great clamour rose among the savages. Piggy shouted again. "Which is better-- to have rules and agree, or to hunt and kill?"
I don't quote their names but I do quote from their dialog and the attribute it to their character
In chapter 1 Ralph and Piggy discuss whether anyone knows that they are on the island. Ralph suggests that his father will come and rescue them as soon as he can, telling Piggy that the people at the airport will tell him where they are. Piggy replies, and I quote... "Not then. Didn't you hear what the pilot said? About the atom bomb? they're all dead."
To quote directly from the book... Piggy touched Ralph's wrist. "Come away. There's going to be trouble. And we've had our meat."
I suppose there is one example of betrayal which stands out. It occurs in the first chapter when Piggy reveals his nickname to Ralph and tells him, and I quote, "So long as you don't tell the others---." However Ralph tells the meeting of boys, I quote, "He's not Fatty, his real name's Piggy." Later Piggy remonstrated with Ralph and said, "You told 'em. After what I said."
Piggy doesn't find the conch Ralph does. I quote... "What's that?" Ralph had stopped smiling and was pointing into the lagoon. Something creamy lay among the ferny weeds.
Piggy Suggests they ( Ralph and himself) go to they party. Quote: pg 163 Piggy stirred the sand under water and did not look at ralph. " P'raps we ought to go too. " Ralph looked at him quickly and Piggy blushed. " I mean- to make sure nothing happens. "
No, but at the very end of the book, quote... Ralph wept for the end of innocence, the darkness of man's heart, and the fall through the air of the true, wise friend called Piggy.
