It be getting old. Loss of fur is quite common in old age. If your hamster is young, go to the vets immediately because it could be cancer or another serious medical condition.
because they would lose so much money
Poor diet, parasites, mange, various other skin conditions and thyroid disorder are some possibilities.
Depends. Was your hamster the center of your world? If they were, focus on moving on. Now, if you were waiting for the hamster to die for some odd reason, then I suppose the next step is up to you, no? My hamster was one of my main reasons in life. He died on September first. I am having a funeral for him with my friends and family. May he rest in peace.
Hamsters make vocal sounds for a number of reasons, some of which indicate distress. If this continues, a veterinarian should be consulted.
Yes, some hamsters do bite. It depends on their tempermant and how they are treated.
What are some reasons that your diaphragm muscle would hurt when breathing in and out?
They both sound good, but consider the hamster's personality. LEAH would suit a hamster who is more sweet and docile. Who is more graceful and kind toward humans. Also, who likes human interation and doesn't bite. SASSY would be a hamster name for a hamster who nips, is a free spirit, and who does what she wants. She'd also be more the type to run away and cause some ruckus.
Stress is the main reason why hamsters lose fur. Another reason could also be from scratching the area. It depends in what sort of attention you mean. If the hamster has not been fed or cleaned or given water then yes, this will cause the hamster great stress. If you mean the hamster has not been taken out of its cage and played with there is a possibility that this is causing the hamster stress. Hamsters do need attention in that respect and it could cause them stress from being alone and trapped in a small cage for a long period of time. If you think the hair loss is from something else then you should take the hamster to the vets. The best way to avoid this is by taking the hamster out the cage regularly and giving it some attention.
from the research ive done, I dont think its the smartest idea to have a Guinea Pig and a Hamster together. Some of my reasons are: 1) A Guinea Pig's cage has long bars, unlike a hamster's cage. A hamster would easily squeeze out the Guinea Pig cage's bars (i know from experience). And a hamster cage isnt quite suitable for a Guinea Pig, mostly because a Guinea Pig gets much bigger then a hamster does. 2) They have a very different diet. Guinea pigs eat plants, when Hamsters eat plant AND meat. the guinea pig would get sick if he/she accidentally ate the meat. 3) Hamsters are nocturnal, Guinea Pigs are not. the hamster would get very annoyed with the Guinea Pig, who would probably want to be up in the day time, squeaking away as the Hamster trys to sleep. and this could lead to a fight. I hope this answered your question!
I can name three hamsters. There is the Russian hamster, the Dwarf hamster, and the Chinese hamster.
Generally, hamster bedding is good for most rodent pets. A good idea would be to buy some hamster fluff for the baby mice to sleep on. It's really soft cotton that rodents use to create soft nests for themselves.
Yes, but you have to be creative. Just shampooing the fur of a hamster with added conditioner is not going to kill it. But if you submerge the hamster in a vat of conditioner, it will drown. Why you would want to do such a thing, I cannot imagine. We get some pretty strange questions on this site.
