It is graphic art created specifically for commercial uses, esp. for advertising, illustrations in magazines or books, or the like.

In either case, I would imagine we could both agree that visual communication is the key, and great visual communication is critical in order to reach desired outcomes whether in business or other organizations. I believe you will need to tightly couple both theoretical and practical approaches. I great place to start is at community college that offers Graphic Design, Commercial Art, Illustration, Publishing etc. They will discuss with you various avenues of approach toward your specific career goals and objectives. This will parallel a four year institutions general cluster for their equivalent program of study. There are many required courses required in order to obtain a Game Design Bachelor's Degree. One must take programming courses, art courses, and animation courses.
Yes ... but there are tests AND required undergraduate courses. (I did it with an engineering degree ... but it required some extra courses and a lot of hours.)
