In magazine organizations, the stories are researched for long periods of time causing the published media to have a delay of approximately 3-6 months. It can be a time consuming process requiring many personnel hours of research. After a prolonged vetting of a subject of journal can be proven in a very short time causing many more months of retraction and/or research. This may also prove true in reference books.
The media on the internet can be wrought with inconsistencies and/or falsehoods. As the facts can be discovered through methods unavailable at the first sharing of information. As some research can only be proven through the test of time. With facts being gathered in various manners causing fact checking to be less timely and this may cause a delay any publication of facts.
