Sanatana Hindu religion is based on two aspects- Shiva and Sakti. The three important deities of Hinduism are Bramha Vishnu and Maheswar. Lord Shiva ( also called as maheswar and by many other names) is the most important God of Hinduism. Hinduism being the oldest religion in the world is a flexible religion irrespective of one's sex ie both women and men are equal. Hence there are both female and male Gods in our religion.

Hinduism is not considered a religion to Hindus as much as it is a life style. Hinduism has different types of teachings everywhere. However, I think it is a Monistic religion because the entire universes are actually the Supreme Being who is Bramha-the creator/Vishnu-the preserver/Shiv-the destructor. They are all basically the same. All the gods are based on the the Supreme Being as well.

Nepal and India. India is 80.5% Hindu and Nepal has a similarly large percentage. Sri Lanka is 60.5% Buddhist and only 21.5% Hindu. Bhutan is about 25% Hindu and Indonesia is about 3% Hindu. Hinduism is a major religion in all five countries, with well over a million adherents in each, but it is the majority religion in only India and Nepal.
