Tips for prevention of odors in garbage disposal:Never leave food in the disposal. If you leave it sitting too long, the old food will be decomposing while sitting in the disposal.Do not over fill the disposal. Too much garbage at one time can clog the mechanism and cause fragments to be left behind.Do NOT put grease down the disposal because the grease and the odors will coat every surface.Always let plenty of HOT water run when you run the disposal.Set a weekly or monthly schedule to clean the disposal. See below.Things to buy for garbage disposal cleaning:A Sharpie ™ marker for waterproof marking.A toilet brush - When you get it home, write on it with a Sharpie ™ waterproof marker, "Garbage Disposal Only" and keep it under the kitchen sink, not in the bathroom. Do not use a brush that's been used in the toilet for any other task except the toilet. Use the garbage disposal brush ONLY in the disposal.A baby bottle brush - Again, mark it for Disposal Only.Three 1 pound boxes of baking soda. Remember, debris often comes up into the other sink.Do NOT plug either sink.Make sure you have a clean bucket. Fill it half full with HOT water.Turn OFF the switch to the disposal. It helps to put a piece of tape on the switch as a reminder to not turn it on, except at certain steps.Use ice chips or break apart ice cubes with a hammer -- cover cubes inside a towel before hand to protect and keep ice chips from flying everywhere.Doing the cleaning - NOTE: Pick only ONE method to do. You can try another method in a week or so.Dump 1/4 cup of ice followed by 1/4 pound of baking soda directly into the disposal.Turn on the disposal and let it chew up the ice. Let it run until you can hear that most of the biggest pieces are gone.Turn off the disposal and re-tape the switch.Dump the 1/2 bucket of HOT water directly down the disposal drain. Water from the faucet does not have the same force as using a bucket.Using either brush, insert just above and below the flaps and twirl it around. You should see black yuck and old food particles on the brush. Remove the brush and lay it on paper towels until after the tasks are finished. Now flush again with 1/4 to 1/2 bucket of HOT water.Finish by putting 1/4 cup and 1/4 pound of baking soda into the disposal and again run it. Flush again with HOT water.NOTE: Any leftover ice in the disposal will just melt.Alternate method 1:Cut lemons or oranges into thin wedges, then cut the wedges in half.Use ice cubes or ice chips with lemons OR oranges.Run disposalRepeat steps with waterYou'll need to grind the lemons more than just the plain ice.Alternate method 2:Use ice cubes or ice chipsPour in 1/2 cup baking sodaSlowly add White Vinegar until it begins to foamRun disposalPour in HOT water.Alternate method 3 and 4:Buy a cleaner made specifically for garbage disposals and use it as directed.Call the manufacturer for other ideas.IF THE DISPOSAL BACK FLOWS OR WILL NOT DRAINFollow manufacturer's directions to insert the key into the Unit (under sink) to dislodge any clogs.Remember, NEVER put fingers, hands, or forearm into a garbage disposal. There is a nut on the blade and takes a 3/4 socket(on the ones I worked upon)to remove the cutter counte-clockwise. Actually- most time I cleared the clog by turning the blade a few inches and the clog was removed by hand.

A garbage disposal is a convenient tool for virtually any kitchen, and once the appliance is in use every day, it is hard to do without one. There are a few things that can cause a garbage disposal to go on the fritz and some of them can actually be fixed without calling in a professional. No NoiseIf the disposal has stopped making any noise when it has been turned on, there are some things that can be checked.1. Look under the sink, at the bottom of the garbage disposal, and try to press the unit's reset button. Sometimes it is as simple as the reset button popping out. Push it back in and give the disposal another try.2. Check the circuit breaker. If it has been tripped, switch it off and back on, then try the disposal again.3. Find the switch that powers the garbage disposal. This is usually located on the wall near the sink or in the cabinet underneath the sink. It may be a case of a malfunctioning switch. Turn off the circuit breaker the powers the disposal, then replace the faulty switch. Try the disposal once again. If this is an uncomfortable situation, it might be worth it to have a professional fix it.4. If nothing else is fixing the problem and the disposal still makes no noise when turned on, it might need to be replaced completely. A bit of do-it-yourself knowledge is required for this sort of replacement, so a professional might be needed.Strange NoisesIf the disposal unit is making odd or humming noises but will not actually run, it might be clogged or stuck on something.1. Switch the circuit breaker that powers the disposal off.2. Most garbage disposals come with an offset wrench. Insert this wrench into the flywheel turning hole - this is situated on the bottom of the garbage disposal. Going in a clockwise direction, turn the wrench. This will dislodge anything that has gotten stuck. The flywheel will turn freely when it has been cleared.3. Never put a hand down the garbage disposal. Using a wooden broom handle, the disposal's impeller can be easily unclogged or unstuck from the sink drain. Place the end of the handle against the impeller and, using a bit of elbow grease, try to free it. When it is not obstructed any longer, remove the handle and push the reset button underneath the unit.4. Turn the water on in the sink and quickly switch the disposal off and on for a few seconds. This will make the flywheel spin and can help to dislodge anything clogging it.

With simple interest the interest is not re-invested and does not gain interest.Rs 180 over 4 years = Rs 180 ÷ 4 = Rs 90 per year.Interest rate is 6% per year, thus Rs 90 = 6% of the capital→ 6% x capital = Rs 90→ capital = Rs 90 ÷ 6%= Rs 90 ÷ 6/100= Rs 90 x 100/6= Rs 1500
