Go to set a wireless connection (in vista operating) and go to set adhoc computer (computer to computer) than type your network name, than in the second choose select on the no authored (unsecured) , then select on save network and than click on next. On another operating system like XP open the wireless then the vista laptop which is the admin will appear on your XP laptop, then wait at lest three minute because the XP laptop will take an IP from the vista laptop (will appear requiring network in XP & identifying in vista laptop)
Yes, you can but you might have a problem when you are using two network cards in same time if they are both connected to internet, and sometimes when only one connected to internet and another one just to a local network.
