Haiti's African influences are primarily rooted in the cultural, spiritual, and linguistic aspects brought by enslaved Africans during the Transatlantic slave trade. This includes religious practices such as Vodou, dances like the Yanvalou, and the Creole language which incorporates African grammatical structures and vocabulary. Additionally, Haitian cuisine reflects African culinary traditions through dishes like griyo (fried pork) and diri ak djon djon (rice with black mushrooms).
