Two come to mind almost immediately, though there are probably others.
"...the Lord God took man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to DRESS it and KEEP it." (Gen.2:15)
The 'Literal Bible' with Strong's Definitions says; "till it" and "to tend it"... meaning to generally "work" it and "guard" it, "protect" it, and "attend" to it.
God designed everything to function in harmony... even in [especially in] symbiotic relationships in the world. It's to the mutual benefit of everyone and everything in the world to work "with" the "laws of nature" to dress and keep the earth, because it keeps and sustains us.
And except for man... to whom God gave the earth for this allotted period of time to tend and keep [man - who then gave it and his innocence away to Satan for the honor of worshiping and obeying him, lo, these past millennia]... his greed and lust for profits and power has taken its toll on this ravage planet.
So, our Creator gave the world to man to keep, landscape and tend to. And man chose another god before his Creator and disrespected and neglected the Divine duty that was given him.
As a result of this, and other transgressions against his Creator and himself... Jesus Christ is returning to earth IN WRATH when He comes. He tells us that He's not coming back until all life on earth is threatened with extinction.
"And except those days should be shortened, THERE SHOULD NO FLESH BE SAVED: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." (Matt.24:22)
The chronology of Jesus' prophecy, here, places this threat to all life on earth in the middle of His description of the coming Great Tribulation [Matt.24:9-29; see also the corresponding 'seal 5' of Rev.6].
It's doubtful, however, that the world will come to this condition through man's neglect to dress and keep it [although, it can't help]. The real threat is more likely to be a great unleashing of the "four horsemen" of Revelation that have been extant in the world since Adam and Eve submitted to another god.
False religious fanaticism causing global conflict, resulting in global famine, pestilence and diseases.
When big cities in the "civilized nations" around the world suffer the ravages of mushroom clouds overhead. When global economic collapse, starvation and homelessness radically alters the civilization we know today... the real pollution and devastation of the earth will begin.
Which brings us to the second passage that sprang to mind.
The prophecy of Jesus' return at the seventh and last Trumpet sound:
"...the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever...
"...We give thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.
"And the nations were angry, and THY WRATH IS COME, and the time of the dead, that they should be Judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest DESTROY them which DESTROY THE EARTH." (Rev.11:15-18)
Man is ultimately responsible to God and one another to tend to and keep the earth, that it might continue to keep him. But man is subject to the ways of his god... and when men are deep in the throes of envy, jealousy, lust and greed... they don't recognize the laws that would limit these powerful "spiritual pollutants."
The real pollution that shall threaten all life on earth isn't going to be that of man's day-to-day living -- of litter or second-hand smoke.
It's going to be the unleashing of man's religions upon other men, his war-making capabilities; nuclear, biological, chemical. It's going to result from famine and "the prophesied heavenly signs" of meteors and "stars falling from heaven" [see Matt.24:29 and Rev.6, seal 6].
These things are more urgent and immediate... and perilous... than the gradual toll of "climate change" [even if it did exist].
