If human waste (excrement's) is treated correctly it can be used as fertilizer. There are a number of ways to sanitize human waste to be used as fertilizer. If Thermophilic fermentation is used the waste will be sanitized for use in a relatively short period of time, usually 1-3 days at 53-55 degrees C. If you were to use Mesophilic fermentation all pathogens would be killed at about 35-37 degrees C in approximately 36 days. Human excrement's can be used to develop organic fertilizer which serves as partial substitute for chemical fertilizer. Thus negative impact and harm to the environment caused by chemical fertilizer can be reduced.
