The disadvantages for the republic government is we can vote for people to represent us on day to day issues. If America was a true democracy, then everyone would vote on the state and federal budget, and the names of Post Offices. So to try to achieve a better level of effectiveness and progress, we have a republic, where we elect representatives to go make decisions for us.
The downside to that is that politicians can lie to us or mislead us as to their views. They can also be bought off by special interests, drowning out the voices of the masses.
So, neither is a perfect system, but there you have it.
Not that many. Before the real power went to the Governments and Parliaments, the main risk was that the hereditary system of a royal House would produce someone who was totally unsuited for the job or who could purely by his own actions drag his country into war. In today's constitutional monarchies that cannot happen anymore and a monarch's job today is largely ceremonial.
The basic argument against monarchy usually is that when all public offices are filled on the basis of elections or (hopefully)after careful assesment of the candidate's aptitude and qualifications, is is illogical that the very highest public office should be filled purely on the basis of birth.
Other 'disadvantages' mentioned usually concern the high cost of having a king (sometimes true, but there are inexpensive monarchies like Norway against high-cost presidencies like France and the USA) and the 'perks' and pomp that the job entails - but here also, that goes for a number of elected presidents too.
Advantages:
-We can vote for people to represent us on a day to day basis.
-Republics are extremely effective when a country wants to get a decision accomplished faster.
Disadvantages:
-politicians may mislead us in their views.
-They also may ignore people's opinions, and only focus on their own interests .
There are quite a number of advantages of a republic government. Some of these advantages include the fact that the power is with the people, there is equal representation of the people and the rule of law applies to all among others.
What if 51% are bad and 49% are good then 49% of the people have a bad leader, bad laws, and violence in every coroner.
Some do not always vote for the right reason, therfore they will vote for the wrong person. We all have different views of who and how the government should be ran.
An advantage is the fact that the people get a vote on it and that there is a chance for the people.
Government: Federal Parliamentary republic
Republic: When a country was once ruled by a king or queen
Advantages include having it at a birthday party!
because if they don't have civic virtue then they will not get along and they will worry about them self. the republic government is by the people for the people they will probably try and have a bad government. you don't want to have a bad government.
