The Scottish government will pay tuition fees for all Scottish students to attend university. This does not need to be paid back. As such, tuition fees at Scottish universities are very small for UK and EU students to prevent the government from paying extreme amounts.

Students can also apply for various loans and bursaries that have very fair schemes that don't require repayment until the person earns a certain wage. Even then only a small amount is taken off their pay check.

Scotland has some of best universities in the UK. In 2013, St Andrews was number 6, Edinburgh number 18 and Glasgow number 23.

Generally, Scotland also has lower accommodation prices (depending on the area) than places like England and there are many things to do.
