There are thousands of flea markets in the United States. Flea markets vary in size, from as few as five or six vendors to several thousand vendors. Many are held outside and many are held indoors, especially those in the northern parts of the country. Being indoors they can stay open year 'round even when it is cold and snowing outside. Most are open every weekend. Some are held just a few days a month, such as the first weekend of each month or the second weekend of the month. There are also special events, flea markets and swap meets that are only open one weekend (three or four days) per year, as well as Labor Day events, Memorial Day events, etc. You can find out if there are flea markets in your area by doing a Google search. Type 'flea markets, (State)' and you'll find a large list of websites to choose from. There may be a flea market just a few miles from you that you didn't even know about. Selling at flea markets is a great way to make money. It's an easy, very affordable business to get into.
Here is a list of some of the best flea markets I have been to: Mile High Flea Market, Henderson, Colorado (about 18 miles NE of downtown Denver on I-76 at 88th Ave. A very large market, level, paved. Traders Village, Grand Prairie, Texas (Between Fort Worth and Dallas) Another very large market, level, paved. Traders Village, Houston, TX Level, paved, not as large as the sister market in Grand Prairie but a nice market just the same. First Monday Trade Days, Weatherford, Texas. Only held on the weekend just before the first Monday of the month. Weatherford is about 50 miles west of Fort Worth, Texas. Get off I-20 at exit 409 (there's a Petro truckstop at that exit) and head north three or four miles. Watch for the market on your right. Well worth stopping in. Austin Country Flea Mart, Austin, Texas On Hwy 290, about four or five miles East of I-35 This is a clean market, level, paved, under cover. Larry's Old Time Trade Days, Winnie, Texas. Open only on the weekend after the first Monday of each month. In Southeastern Texas on I-10, Exit 829, then turn north a couple blocks, it'll be on your left. Level, grass, a very nice, clean market, just 20 or so miles north of the Gulf of Mexico if you feel like playing on the beach when you're done shopping. Ever thought of selling at flea markets? It's one of the easiest small businesses to start and operate and it's a great way to make a very good living on the road if you like to travel!
