I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on February 23rd, 2010. I went through 3 rounds of heavy chemotherapy, 15 rounds of total body radiation, and on May 19th, 2010 I received a bone-marrow transplant from my brother, a perfect match. I am a living example that Leukemia can be beat. I still have a long way to go in terms of recovery, and the chance that it can come back will always be there; however, I do not think like that. I am doing great with the exception of being a little skinny, but that too will come back.
Have you been recentley diagnosed? If so, the most important thing you can do for yourself is keep a positive attitude. It is a learning time, and it is important not to ask "why me" or to fill your soul with hatred and anger. It is time to step back and ask yourself "What have I been doing wrong?" and "What do I need to do to change?".
