The characteristics are that:
1.The planet CANNOT be boiling hot because you will disintegrate within mid air even from a distance.
2.the planet has to be a slight Sphere not fully round because you can walk easier
3.Wear suitable clothing otherwise you will die preferably wear an astronaut suit with and oxygen tank.
4. Finally always keep in touch with members of the space society because if you notice anything always call and they'll get you out of trouble.

There is not a 10th plane, yet. Some day maybe there will be but for now there isn't. Dont worry about this right now. There isn't even a 9th planet, but there used to be until scientists and astronauts called Pluto not a planet for its size and many other reasons. :) Maybe the 9th or 10th planet will be a livable planet and everyone can move there. Mars is livable if we teraformed it which would take hundreds of years. some of the other problems are the atmosphereic pressure is to low and all the water is frozen. so we would have to warm up the planet then get more oxtgen in the atmosphere.
