A:Daniel was still alive when the Book of Daniel ends, although he would seem to have been a very old man. As this book is considered to be a second-century-BCE novel, written long after the events portrayed, there is nothing in history to say how old he was.

A:Daniel, one of the prophets in the Old Testament was captured by Babylonians in 586 BC. when he was about 19 years old. He lived from 605 BC. to 530 BC. which means that Daniel was about 75. Other statements say that he went over or about 90 years, that is in the Amplified Bible.

Daniel was an outstanding prophet of Jehovah of the tribe of Judah. He was the writer of the book bearing his name. Very little is known of his early life, but he tells of being taken to Babylon, likely as a teenage prince, along with other royal offspring and nobles. (Da 1:3-6) This was in Jehoiakim's third year (as tributary king to Babylon), which third year started in the spring of 618 B.C.E. (Da 1:1) With Jehoiakim's inglorious death, Jehoiachin, his son, ruled for a few months before surrendering. Early in 617 B.C.E., Jehoiachin and other "foremost men," also young Daniel (2Ki 24:15), were taken into captivity by Nebuchadnezzar.

The anonymous author of the book says that Daniel was a young boy in 586 BCE, the time the Babylonians took many of the inhabitants of Jerusalem into exile. If the information is correct, then we could assume that Daniel was born somewhere around 590 BCE.
