There are many advantages of mobile phones but disadvantages as well. You are always accessible and traceable with a cell phone on and in your pocket. If you are on a vacation or some thing you can easily get disturbed by your office folks. There are many health hazards which frequent mobile phone usage can cause, but are still debated by engineers, doctors and scientists and nothing conclusive is proven.

Disadvantages of mobile usage include distraction to the user. There are many examples of persons using their cell and then dying due to being distracted. Such as many drivers who are involved in accidents due to being distracted. Or the person walking on the RR track and not hearing the train until it was too late. These distractions can also be caused by using IPods and ear phones.
Health hazards from cell phones is greatly misrepresented. Modern Cell phones put out power at about 0.03 watts. Your microwave puts out 1,200 watts. A lot more! Being close to a microwave results in exposure to more energy than from many exposures to a cell phone. When microwaves first came out, many people were afraid of the radiated energy. Now, people have a hard time function without a microwave.

∙ 15y agodemerits - The cell camera, the voice recording features could be used to intrude some one's privacy and also with the increase in number of mobiles, people are becoming immobile. Because everything can be done by just making one phone call, or one text msg, or paying bills online with internet services. You loose much of your physical activity although it is gud that it saves time. Now a days people have lost sense of public decorum. For example, loud and irritating ringtones, shouting aloud in public places, disturbing others with their chitchat in offices etc. On the health aspects too mobiles are provene to be detrimental over long term use. The radiations themselves are dangerous to males if they keep the mobile in their pockets. If you keep them near your chest, it is again dangerous to your heart. If you keep talking prolongedly it is dangerous to your ears also and your brain gets affected too.
