There were several major differences between the American and French revolutions. In the case of the American revolution, it concerned leaving the British Empire and forming a new nation. In contrast, the French revolution was concerned with overthrowing the government of France and killing thousands of people who the revolutionaries believed were pro-monarchy. When the French king was removed and executed, more trials took place and more executions took place. In contrast, the American revolution was not a "campaign of terror". The end result of the American revolution was the beginnings of a new form of democratic government. The end result of the French revolution was the coming of a new "king" the Emperor Napoleon.
