Hi, then I commited myself to learn touchtyping I really learned to hate the querty layout. After some googling I found both the Colemak and the Dvorak layout. I tried them both for a day each and decided to stick with Dvorak. Colemak has a lot of advantages over Dvorak, but I just fell in love with the way my hands alternated then typing with Dvorak. However you should asking yourself if typing speed is really the only thing you care about. In the rare moments I'm using the mouse I'm hating the Dvorak for it disables me to execute most shortcuts with one hand. Looking back, I might go down a different road. Still, although I didn't give Colemak to hard a try, I think the hand alternation gives Dvorak a slight speed edge.
