What dolls? I can't remember any. In exchange, he hides under his cloak two dirty, haggard skeleton-like figures in the shape of a boy and a girl, symbolising WANT and IGNORANCE.

that is basically what the answer is. in many different versions they describe WANT and IGNORANCE in different ways but they always have the same name

They are not dolls. The ghost of Christmas present produces two children. The boy symbolises ignorance and the girl symbolises want. The ghost warns scrooge to be aware of them both but more especially ignorance
