Well Google SketchUp is a 3D modeling program optimized for a broad range of applications such as architectural, civil, mechanical, film as well as video game design.There are many advantages of Google sketch up.But as far as drawbacks are concerned ,i think Complicated drawings are difficult to create and extrude. More proceedings will be needed to create an extrude with a complicated base drawing.Also Double bend surfaces are difficult to create in this program. Because tubes and squares are the simplest forms to create, it is possible that the users will create models mainly out of these forms. This can reduce the quality of the models.There are some drawbacks of the free version of Google Sketchup also. The free version of Google Sketchup only exports 3D models for Google Earth. You will find it difficult to fine tune modelling with Google Sketchup.
