As with any religion, narrowing Hinduism down to 5 beliefs does not cover the entire religion and is merely a starting point for learning about and understanding the culture.

  1. There is one transcendent supreme being. All gods live in a separate world from ours, which people can connect to with devotions and rituals.
  2. The universe undergoes endless cycles. Souls undergo cycles as well, until they can liberate themselves from the cycles. This liberation is called moksha.
  3. No one religion is correct, all of them can have genuine paths that lead to God's Light.
  4. All life is sacred, and should be taken care off and not harmed
  5. In order to reach enlightenment, one needs to have discipline, perform a pilgrimage, have an enlightened master and meditate.
