The Dilly Bar is a Dairy Queen Treat (introduced in 1955) of soft serve with a coating of chocolate (there are also cherry or butterscotch coatings available).
Soft Serve ingredients:
Milkfat and Nonfat Milk, Sugar, Corn Syrup, Whey, Mono and Diglycerides, Artificial Flavor, Guar Gum, Polysorbate 80, Carrageenan and Vitamin A Palmitate
Chocolate flavored coating:
Cocoa, Sugar, Coconut oil, Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil,
Soy Lecithin.
(The coating does not meet FDA requirements of chocolate as a stand-alone food, so Dairy Queen has to call it chocolate flavored.
The coconut oil is what enables the coating to solidify.

Alan Wright (then) of Sparta Wisconsin invented the Dilly Bar. He sold the rights to Dairy Queen who (to my knowledge) does not give credit to anyone. He is a first cousin to my Mom who always describes him as a big kid who loves his ice cream.
The first Dilly Bar was made by the owner of a privately owned Diary Queen location in Leadington, Missouri in 1953. His name is Owen Sloan. He sold the idea to Diary Queen for $500 in 1955. Owen is currently 82 years old and in good health.
Erin Dilly's birth name is Erin Catherine Dilly.
Dilly Braimoh was born in 1959.
Dilly Knox died in 1943.

An outstanding example, as in "That was a real dilly of a fight!" It's a rather corny expression and isn't often used.
No, it is not. Dilly is a noun meaning something remarkable or extraordinary.
