It opens with a keyboard chord played with a synthesized strings patch or perhaps a "choir" patch that is supposed to sound like people singing.

Then a harp plays scale.

The prominent short notes sound somewhat like plucking the string of some classical stringed instrument, but it is probably another keyboard synthesizer patch too.

The wind instruments that play the actual melody sounds like a saxaphone playing the low part and a flute simultaneously playing the high part. The end of that passage is accentuated by what sounds like a muted Trumpet and then the piano comes in pounding out the bass notes.

At :18 you get a run from some kind of stringed instrument like a cello (it is probably a cello because a violin is a higher pitch) and that run is simultaneously accented by a xylophone.

Cymbal crash at :20, then the bass part sounds like an orchestra drum (tympani I believe?) and there also is a horn accentuating the drum hits (I will guess that it's a tuba because it sounds low and farty-a technical term).

The run at :24 may be a flute and a Clarinet together, but its hard to say.

:32 Muted trumpet (or perhaps Trombone?)

:34 School band comes in with various instruments, but mostly trumpet and saxaphone.

:38 Lisa's sax is probably a Tenor sax because it sounds lower and more full than an alto

Lots of strings and saxamaphones and trumpets and xylophones, drums, etc...

Wow there are a lot of instruments in this theme song! It is very well done... I never really paid close attention to it.

I spelled saxaphones wrong. DOh!
