You are 2 adults having a baby so this is not a underage relationship. Age of consent is 17 in Texas but you are an adult at 18. Since you are not married you have to prove paternity by a DNA test in court in order for you to get your parental rights so you can petition for; custody, visitation and pay child support. I recommend you have a paternity test right when the baby is born so you know for sure you are the father. You have the right to sign the birth certificate, only the biological father can do this.
