makes your nose bleed and can cause loss of smell. but I've snorted pills for years and i can still smell fine so i say go for it.

^ The above is a terrible answer and should be taken serious. Who ever posted this must not be in full addiction to whatever drug they are snorting. First off, just nose bleeds and not being able to smell are two very minor problems when it comes to snorting drugs. I am not a doctor, I am an addict who is trying to get better but I'm not your average addict in that I do a lot of researcher, am attempting to get a degree (not going well due to my addiction) and read a lot on subjects I'm interested in. I have studied natural health for 7 years now and snorting drugs, besides being a waste of the drug (in terms of pills/prescription meds), it damages the lungs significantly, of course it damages your sinus cavity and then of course any use of drugs damages the body immensely. How anyone can promote drug use and snorting is ignorant and has not fallen completely into the addiction. Because I do not have an addictive personality normally, it took me about 8 years or more to become an everyday user when it comes to pain meds. I feel in love and had a mental addiction almost immediately but I was able to have control over it for the first decade almost but it took me staying home all day to start using it more frequently and then to the everyday and there is NOTHING fun about it, NOTHING!! I mean that with every sense of the word. I don't enjoy the high anymore, if I even get high. I need so much of it, it costs me a rent payment just for a few days of being well. I need it to function or else I'm not happy and extremely sick. My life has gone nowhere and I'm extremely depressed and the pills don't even help anymore. It was the ultimate trap, with the facade that having all day access to the pills would be the ultimate life and I would have fun and be happy, only to find out that it would make my life so miserable it's too much to bare. But now its too late, I'm trapped, if I stop I'm sick for days if not a week, and when that is through, then it's months of hopeless depression boarding on suicidal, with no energy or motivation to do anything. The mental addiction is the hardest if not impossible to beat now and if there is a Satan, then this is his ultimate drug. It lures you in with the appeal of not feeling any emotions and fake happiness and once you are in, you are in for good and you no longer are happy and nothing in life will bring you joy, not even the drug you gave up your life for. Please, for anyone reading this, do not listen to the niavity of people who make careless comments like this comment above mine. If you are not physcially addicted yet and completely trapped, stop now. I know it is the hardest time to stop because you get the most joy at this stage of the addiction but I promise you, I give you my word of honor and will bet you any amount of money you can think of, it does not turn out well and you will only regret and be miserable. To get out of the end stage I'm in, is worse than surving the epocolypse. Most people in my stage of addiction never make it out, only die. Do not let yourself get there. It is not fun at all. You can only get so high and eventually you do run out of the good feelings it use to produce.

You become psychologically dependant on the drug and the ritual of using it.

It messes up your sinuses.

For me, I recently found that the cartilage in one of my nostrils seems to be separated in an odd way and sticks out a bit, affecting the size and appearance of my nose.

If you are weak, you could waste good years of a life that has potential.

You could watch men fall head-over-heels for you without any sense of excitement over what the future will bring with this new love.....

because you know the future means this fool finding out that there's a reason you're still single in your 30's.

And you have to admit to yourself that the more men get to know you, the less they want to be with you, and it's all your fault.

You've messed up your life so much that you're too depressed to quit doing the things that have hurt you in the first place.

Those are some long-term affects of snorting drugs.

Health issues, obviously. Deterioration of the nasal cavity and I've heard about it messing with your lungs. I've never thoroughly researched it, though, so I cannot give specifics.

What are the affects of being addicted to snorting percocets for three years?

well the long lasting effects of abusing oxycodone can be just like morphine, heroin, opium, etc. Not good basically. heres a link about the long term effects... http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/archive/index.php/t-72153.html and snorting... http://www.articlesbase.com/health-articles/shortterm-and-longterm-effects-of-opiate-addiction-461982.html Now snorting them is an extremely dangerous way for at least 2 main reasons. 1. you are taking all the milligrams of oxycodone at a much faster absorption rate which means you can easily overdose much quicker. 2. the effects of the powder hitting the insides of your nostrils at high speeds are like little rocks or granules that slowly tear away at your nasal tissues and can lead to a hole through your nostrils, especially if it has acetaminophen in it, and cause long term lung damage from the powder being trapped in. if u abuse them at least take them orally compared to snorting. but dont abuse them at all.
