Some people, unwilling to believe that the entire population of Israel would have so willingly adopted the religion and culture of non-Abrahamic people, continue to hope that somewhere in the Middle East, or elsewhere, will be found a group of people still practising an idealised worship of God and waiting to be returned to their former home.
